Just seen it..... I thought it was great! *SPOILERS*

A couple of minor plot holes and some flaws but all in all it was a fun movie. I'm a bit disapointed that Shannon is unrecognisable in the make up but take the originals away from the equasion and this one is actually a good movie.

Edward Furlong was good although again i'm disapointed that he is unrecognisable in the make up. I imagine they just got a group of stuntpeople to play the possessed kids.

Shannon Elizabeth did a fine job but is NO Amelia Kinkaid.

Linnea Quigley's cameo was awesome, wearing the same costume and still sticking her ass in the air for all to see, lol.

Monica Keena was good but i was really distracted buy her appearance more than anything and how radical it has changed since Freddy Vs Jason.

That ending was not good for me, it would have been better if she had actually hung herself and not coped out like that, IMO she didn't even need to hang herself at all, the demons died about 2 seconds after she did it, why not just fight em off or run for 2 seconds.

A few flaws but i really liked it and i was not expecting too.

6 out of 10 for me.

I agree! I was surprised to see all this negativity, actually. I was expecting it to be awful, and it proved me wrong big-time. I watched it back-to-back with the original (which I hadn't seen until then) and I kind of preferred this incarnation -- which is actually a rarity for me. I thought it was paced much better than the first, despite being a little longer. I hated all of the characters in the original, too - in this one, even the slutty or stupid ones (which were all of them) were entertaining. My only real qualms about the remake were Edward 'The Mumbler' Furlong and Monica 'No-Talent' Keena's performances. Everything else was surprisingly good.

Overall, I thought it was very well-done. I'd give it a low 7/10.

The movie would have been GREAT if they recasted Edward Furlong and Monica Keena cause they both sucked.

the funny thing about her "fake suicide", i actually rewound (is that even a word? lol) to check and there's clearly no rope around her waist as she jumps off, falls off and swings to her death.

so either its a continuity mistake which would be typical or maybe she was gonna die originally but they chickened out and added the waist scene as an afterthought.

Foxx, I agree with you! I overall liked the movie but thought Monica Keena and Edward Furlong were way miscast. I also don't really care for Bobbi Sue either but since her role was much smaller she didn't bother me as bad. Edward Furlong isn't terrible but in his current state(looks, etc) I don't buy him as the main man. Monica can not act. I think the made a mistake trying to write her character as such a wise ass too but it didn't help with Monica delivering some of the worst lines in the flick. They should have had Diora Baird as the leading lady.

I don't hate the film, but I'll admit that I was disappointed on several levels. I wasn't expecting this to be better or even as good as the original, but I was expecting to see the film take on a life of its own. I just didn't get that & I kind of feel that if they didn't try to wedge some of the stuff from the original in here, it would have been able to do that a little more. I loved the idea of the maid sequestering herself in her room scribbling symbols to keep the demons at bay & I also enjoyed the background story- I just wish they'd done more with it.

I also agree that Edward Furlong was miscast. He shouldn't have been in this at all, to be honest. He was terrible & I know someone else could have done better.

It was a total piece of crap. The only redeeming quality was Michael Copon.

I thought this was a great Halloween flick. Wasn't expecting it to be as good. Compare it to a bunch of other horror movies this month such as Nightmare on Elm St. and Dark Days and its way better.

I actually liked the character of Eddie Furlong. Didn't want him to die at all. I thought he was gonna live just to have to face the BJ mobster. But yeah, great flick.

I agree, but I think it is sort of unfair to compare it to the original. I never assumed that it would meet up to my image of the original film but I was hoping that it would be a little bit better than what it ended up being.

I was more disappointed that it ended up being so "middle of the road". If it had been really good or really bad, then it would have been fun for either element. There were some good parts to this film (the Broussard storyline, the maid's room), but there were a lot of parts to it that were just pretty tepid (the lipstick scene, Edward Furlong).
