Just ok...some spoilers...beware.

I have to say I was one of the ones excited to see this remake. I'm a HUGE fan of the orignal. So when I heard they were remaking it, I got really excited.

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. First off, I don't think Shannon Elizabeth should've played Angela. She's a terrible actress and she wasn't even scary! The demon make-up, not just on Angela, but on all of the actors wasn't even that scary. I felt the original, as dated as it is, had way better FX than this one. I think the only demon that kind of creeped me out was Suzanne's. For obvious reasons.

I also thought it was kind of annoyed that Edward Furlong was cast in the movie. He's had such a weird life off camera and he hasn't really acted in quite some time. I have to say, he was probably my favorite character. He was playing the part like how I was watching the movie. He was as confused as I was! I was a little upset he got turned towards the end.

Monica Keena was probably my favorite actress out of all the ladies. She's probably the only real actor out of all of them. I do think as an ensamble they all interacted fine together. I just felt like there was a lack of something that was much needed. And I don't know what it was.

It just wasn't really up to par with the 80's version. The scene that annoyed me the most was when Maddie climbed down the rope into the basement to meet up with Edward Furlong's character. Made no sense to me.

Thoughts?

LOL! Climbing down the rope made no sense to me either. Except maybe she thought it was safer than an alternative route.

I thought it was a decent Horror movie, with some lite humor. The music was definitely top notch! It didn't make me pass out. That's saying something. Trust me LOL! It's hard to find a good movie these days, that won't put me to sleep :p

Gonna have to watch the original now. Thanks for mentioning it.

I'm glad you at least gave some reasons for not really liking it instead of just bashing it like everyone else. Personally, I found it entertaining. I don't intend to run out and buy it now, but it was fun to watch. For the record.. can't say I'm a huge fan of the original, seen it a few times, but I AM a huge fan of horror (movies and everything else) in general.
