Rusted iron IS so very random.
rusted iron or rust was never symbolized in demonology and very few demons have iron as their metal, not to mention that iron are not even classified as "ancient" material.

That is strange but it worked as a part of the film for the plot to kill off demons though.

plot shouldnt be driven by false facts. even in mars attacks martians being afraid of music was done better than the rusted argument here.

so if i figure that say, the main hero suddently can teleport, would have you expected that? i doubt it. took you by surprise, doesnt mean it would be a plus for the movie.

I understand in what you are trying to say but that is how the movie was written and we cannot do anything about it until someone decides to remake this remake here. It will more than likely happen in about 20 to 30 years from now because that is what usually happens.
