So I actually really enjoyed this movie

It had it's corny bits (they all do) but It made me jump a few times, made me laugh &made me hope for the leads' survival. Great horror/comedy. Low rating is undeserved.

i hope you choke on your bacardi & coke!

Yeah I didn't think it was as bad as people made it out to be at all. I mean it's no classic but let's be real: neither was the original (which I did enjoy, being a horror fan). It was also pretty cheesy and the female lead was locked away for the majority of the violence. She was also uninteresting, playing the innocent virgin role straight. And how many scenes was it just Angela as a demon being rolled along a long hallway with a man dubbing her lines in a growly voice?

Basically, it wasn't a citizen kane remake so even though, again, I do like the original I am pretty amused by people disregarding this film as a 'blasphemous remake'.

I felt that the weakest bits of this film were when they were trying to recreate scenes from the original. The lipstick scene comes to mind as being extremely forced. I remember watching that scene and thinking "wow, Linnea's a better actress than I reckoned" as the kitty-cat girl just was not getting it done. Also the dancing scene. You're not gonna beat stigmata martyr and a strobe light. The obligatory obnoxious fat character would have been fun to have around.

But I liked that there were multiple characters to root for and that all of the demons who got turned provided some menace and werent just stumbling zombies. And the soundtrack, even minus Bauhaus, was way above average. Concrete Blonde, TSOL, 45 Grave--that's some good *beep* right there.

It actually reminded me a lot of Demon Knight.
