I think Shannon did a really good job with what she was given. I loved her as Angela.
And TOTALLY Off topic here- I don't get why people say she's a bad actress. It's not that she's bad, she's very funny and talented... I just think she needs a new agent and/or find better roles. She's one of those actors where you can tell she's got alot of depth and range, but don't always seem to use it to their full potential cuz they get the wrong roles. Sort of like Kate Bosworth, or Michelle Rodriguez.
Shannon seems to really enjoy doing horror and comedy, so maybe that's why. But I'd like to see her in a serious dramatic role, something different. Totally IMO, btw.

I agree with Thrill Kill. No one will probably ever be better then Mimi in this role but I think Shannon did great with what she was given. I think the biggest mistake in this film is they don't have Angela as the Big Bad Demon. She seems the same as the rest of the demons. Besides the one scene with her talking to Monica through the doorway you wouldn't even know she was the main demon.

I agree. I kinda always knew she was the lead demon, she just didn't get the most screentime of all the demons.

Shannon did not do too bad in the film but still Mimi is the best and no one I do not think can beat her out at all.

I agree. Shannon gave Angela a bit of an edge. Also, it is a shame how her career has sort of taken a nosedive. Thirteen Ghosts didn't help much and neither did Tomcats. That was probably the beginning. But she's still young and hopefully, like you said, maybe a new agent would help give her a boost. As for an actress, she's no Drew Barrymore but she's not terrible.

Yeah, I'm hoping she will start focusing more on her acting career, rather than so much on her poker career. She said she was going to, but who knows with those things.
I kind of just realized this thing too- Shannon has a HUGE fan-base, bigger than most house-hold names, but yet... she dosn't do alot of films. She is more invested in her poker playing, and you know another actress that does the same thing who is definitely underrated- Jennifer Tilly. It's like, these women have cult-like followings from their Iconic roles, and they don't seem to be as into the careers that they would be good at... and instead focus on playing poker- which they are not so very good at. Lol.
No Shannon is not a bad actress and I am sure she will do fine and find some role that will make her into a big star once again.

Mimi Kinkade on just the dance alone. Overall better characterization. I'd go gay for her.

I try to be good hard-worker-man, but refrigemater so messy, so so messy.
I don't think anyone will be able to play Angela the way that Mimi did, but Shannon did a pretty decent job of trying to fill her shoes. Let's be honest, there isn't a person out there who could have done Angela just as well as it was done in the original.
I do like Shannon's spin on it, though & I did like the re-imagined dance for the most part. Not as cool as the original dance, but still good in its own way.
Mimi. I'm true to the original. Shannon doesn't seem to fit as Angela. I think it's mainly because seeing something I love getting remade makes me feel uneasy.
