A funny sorta-similarity to the Vacation films...

It occurred to me a while back, but these films mirror the Vacation films a little bit.

The first installments have a more vague similarity, but regardless; the Griswold's trek around the country with a theme park as their main goal. Harold and Kumar trek around with a fast food chain as their main goal. Again, not very specifically similar, but both very much have a general Americana feel to them. Fast food and amusement parks!

The second installments have a more striking similarity; going to Europe. While Harold and Kumar don't make it there until the end, it was what they were trying to do from the start. Though they were more specifically going to Amsterdam, it still is a European trip they were going on.

And finally; the third installment in each franchise is a Christmas movie!

Now they just need a 4th Harold and Kumar movie with them going to Vegas and it will be complete! lol!

I hope we get to see a fourth movie! There was a cartoon series in talks. I am not sure if that is happening anytime soon.

The cartoon series is happening, they did a table read and there's a video on Kal Penn's Instagram of him recording for Kumar in the show

Um, they're both "road-trip" type movies and comedies but aside from that no real similarities. And that only applies to the 1st one really.
