The most fundamental problem with the music in the movie is....

The singing all sounds too perfect! Not saying I like these new versions, but they are all sang too well on a technical level. The reason the original has lasted so long is because of the character that each actor put into their singing! Not their skill level as a vocal performer.

-"Sci fi double feature" is sang slightly off key at times and uses unique and strange pronunciation and cadence. not a perfect, clear, smooth voice.

-Brad sounds like such a dork and has personality in his lyrics, not auditioning for broadway.

-Riff speaks slooow and menacing with screeching high vocals, not like a professional rock star.

-Janet sounds like she is going to come at any minute during "touch-a", not yet another perfect poppy performance.

I will say as much as I disagree with fake frank's casting at least she tries to channel the character, same with fake columbia. How much you wanna bet that rocky, a newborn idiot, also has a flawless singing voice? Fact is, sometimes perfection sounds like crap.

And don't give me any "oh well now they can sound more blah blah blah". It's void of all character, love, personality and only serves to insult the 40 year legacy Richard O'Brien's music has had.

*beep* this remake and *beep* you if you are naive and dumb enough to swallow this tripe and wash it down with some kool-aid.

Stop pretending like you know what you're talking about, please. Because in case you didn't know, Rocky Horror started out as a stage play. Not a movie. Both the stage play and movie sing the songs differently, so there is no rule that says the songs need to be sang in a certain way. Also Brad is suppose to be dorky. That's how he acts in the stage play. As for Rocky, don't be surprised that he talks in this new movie. Rocky is not suppose to be a newborn idiot. He was always meant to talk like in the stage play version. The only reason he doesn't talk in the 1975 film version, is because the actor that played Rocky couldn't act. But the character of Rocky is INDEED suppose to talk. That's why he could sing very well.

LMAO. im not a troll.

my post also had more common sense, facts and reason to back up my arguments. These version suck. Plain and simple.

There was a 1990 revival of the play in London - with Anthony Stewart Head (yes - Giles from "Buffy") as Frank.

I am well aware of the london and roxy cast, which both had personality injected into each character as they sang. The 75 film version simply perfected them so I chose to focus on it.

The stage play did not have broadway level performers. Every song from this new version just doesn't work.

btw brad being a dork in the original movie was a complement. New brad is not dorky enough.

re read my post carefully.
