Was the original movie dubbed? I don't remember it looking as obvious...

This was originally a stage musical (which I saw the original of in London a million years ago) and there is nothing like LIVE MUSIC! Bring it back to BROADWAY!

Or they could have done a live tv version, like they did with Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood. At least that was brave.

Agree. The story is being rushed along, the acting is subpar, and if you haven't seen the original, you wouldn't know what the eff was going on.
