The new Riff Raff the only bring spot in this mess

I decided to give it a chance and thought Reeve Carney did a good job. Laverne Cox was kind of hot and cold; something I thought she was great and sometimes I was making a face and thought she was dreadful. Halfway through the movie she started talking with an accent. What was that about? She also didn't inject that bipolar quality Tim Curry had where he could turn on a new personality on a dime.

One of the major problems with having a woman play this role is when she sings Sweet Transvestite "I'm not much of a man by the light of day," then have all the characters keep calling her she at the end of the movie, it makes you wonder why does she refer to herself as a man in Sweet Transvestite.

Christiana Millan was absolutely horrible as Magenta. She brought none of the avaricious quality to Magenta that Patricia Quinn injected into the part. She just played the role with no personality.

I was never that impressed with Little Nell as Columbia, but I have new appreciation for her. She put life into that role and personality. The actress they picked to play Columbia gave a lifeless performance and her screams seemed put on and for no other reason but to scream.

The guy playing Brad seemed to stumble over his lines half the time like he was reading off a cue card. Barry Bostwick still owns the role.

The actress playing Janet had a better voice then Susan Sarandon who I've always thought has a weak voice.

And the guy playing Rocky acted like a resurrected corpse and lacked the innocence Peter Hinwood played the role with. I also didn't see the point of having Rocky wear basketball shorts for most of the movie until the end when he was wearing the proper attire.

I also noticed they left some of the risque stuff out. Like Magenta and Riff-Raff being lovers. And all the sexual tension from "I Can Make You A Man." I understand they couldn't air some of that stuff, but maybe that was a sign they shouldn't have done this remake to begin with.

What I missed most was the rapport all the actors had with each other in the original movie and that was missing from this production, which just seemed like a bad high school production.

I'm always shocked that the horrible actor playing Dr. Scott was actually Ben Vereen who used to be good a long time ago.

Um, you DO know that Laverne Cox IS a trans-gender actor, right?!?
While no one will certainly ever be able to replace Tim Curry and what he did with the frank-n-furter role in 1975, it's only perfect that Laverne Cox was cast in this remake.

Umm, just checking, but you DO know that being a transvestite is not the same as being trans-gender?

That always bugged me, too. The unfortunate implications that were present when they cast a transgender actress as a transvestite character made it seems as though they though that those two terms were interchangeable. Either that or they simply didn't watch the original movie, in which case, why did they remake it?

Yeah I liked the new Riff Raff. Liked the colorful clothing. The rest of it? Sucked.

I thought Reeve was great as Riff Raff. His portrayal of the the original actor's voice was spot on.

I liked Carney's Riff Raff almost as much as I liked Richard O'Brien's.

Christina Milian's Magenta, however, needed to be shot into the sun. She was indescribably awful.

If I wanted an avatar, I'd have had one by now.

The best in the cast were Victoria Justice (much better than Susan Sarandon), Reeve Carney, Adam Lambert and Ben Vereen.
