I hope they have the good sense to cast Adam Lambert
as Dr. Frankenfurter ... and Lady Gaga as Magenta
shareas Dr. Frankenfurter ... and Lady Gaga as Magenta
shareAs much as I love Adam and Lady Gaga I disagree with you on that.
shareYou're high. Lambert isn't sexy and Gaga is a horrible actress! Have you seen Hotel??
shareHe's playing Eddie.
Strange casting. I mean, I don't see him as Meat Loaf.
Then again, I don't see him as Freddie Mercury either, but that didn't stop Queen from getting him as their new lead singer for whatever reason.
And speaking of serious miscasting, Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Furter! How about that?
Meat Loaf isn't the original Eddie anyways.
shareWasn't he in the original Broadway version, though?
shareNo. Paddy O'Hagan was the one who originally played Eddie in the original London 1973 stage play. Meat Loaf didn't came in until the 1974 Los Angeles Roxy theater cast. You can even listen to the very original "Hot Patootie Bless My Soul" right here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op9cgzikRuU
shareOoh, I missed that. Thanks for the info!
It still doesn't change that I don't like the idea of Adam Lambert playing the character, though.

I think he's grown on me a little. His performance of "Who Wants to Live Forever" after the Florida shooting was breathtaking. Freddie is hard to top, of course.
By the way, how was the Rocky Horror remake? I hear it's getting panned all across the board.
Adam Lambert is exactly who I thought would be the perfect Frankie. Sadly though the casting director was high on meth when they did the casting for the show.
shareAs I recall Richard O'Brien was first intent upon playing Eddie in his original stage show, then decided to go with Riff Raff. So Eddie as a chunky rocker really isn't canon until Meat Loaf came along. The original Eddie Paddy O'Hagan was just an average guy.
Yes Adam would have been a great Frank. But his interview a few months ago was decidedly odd and he really comes across as a clueless ditz. He sounds like a Valley Girl!
Speaking to Idolator, he said: “I kind of felt like in 2016, to be cis and playing the role of a trans character, it felt inappropriate to me. In the ’70s, it was different.
“But nowadays we have such an amazing conversation that’s started about trans and gender in this world. I think casting Laverne [Cox] was so brilliant. It’s so appropriate, you know what I mean?
“And to re-imagine [the character], as well, because she’s entirely different.
“So I said no, but when they started announcing the cast, I said, ’Wait a minute — what about Eddie? I wanna play Eddie! I could do that — that’s like one song. Let me just come in and do a bit part!’ – because I really, really wanted to be a part of it.
“I’m a big fan of the original movie, and [director] Kenny Ortega’s a lovely guy. And then I heard that Cisco Adler was producing the music and thought, oh, this is gonna be good.
“So, I went in and I recorded my songs already. I did my vocals, and they turned out really cool. Now I’m going in for a week in April, in Toronto, to film.”

B-but Frankie isn't even trans...
AGREED!
shareno more Gag acting-she stinks!!
shareThink Adam would have been great in lead... however, he did not shine as I had hoped as Eddie....
shareCasting probably brought better to table but Producers rarely OK best talent for these kind of gigs -- usually most Instagram or Twitter or YouTube followers, etc. Adam Lambert best in show. So missed Curry, who was purrrrfect in '75 RHPS. Cox just too too too.....
