The Problem...

I'm going to start this by saying I was all for Laverne Cox playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter, however after having watched this I will say I was wrong and she (to me) was the WORST part about this. I was wary going in because I wasn't a fan of the cast as a whole but every one else played their roles well (shout out to Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan). Tone deaf singing and what was with that God Awful accent Laverne was doing? I would call this a success but when your main actor/actress destroys the character it's all but impossible. Feel free to disagree.

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one to feel that way about Laverne Cox. I won't be watching this particular RHPS again, but will be relying on Tim Curry as Frank N. Furter.

Her accent was a bit weird but I think she did well other than that.

The was pretty good for what it is. It can't beat the original but we did laugh in several spots. My biggest problem was the pacing of the songs, WAY too slow, didn't have the energy of the original because the tempos were slowed down.

I think she was trying to emulate Tim Curry's accent, but just didn't keep it up, so it sounded off when she didn't continue.

I agree. That was a mess. Adam Lambert would have made a better Frank-N-Furter, and having Tim Curry playing the narrator was really more sad than anything else. I wish he'd steered clear of that production.
