NO garter belt and thigh highs for the Sweet Transvestite number?

Disappointed the costume did not have thigh highs+garters for the Sweet Transvestite number. They're symbolic in the first one

reply

I completely agree.

I KNOW!! man! and tim curry as the professor was totally spaced out. like he was in a coma!

reply

Tim Curry is recovering from a stroke he had in 2012.

It was strange, and sad, to see him having difficulty in the part.
Our thoughts and prayers should go out to him for a full recovery.

You know, when I first heard that he was in the cast, I liked the idea, but when I watched it last night, it struck me as kind of exploitative. I was on pins and needles when he was about to deliver his first line because I was worried he would sound impaired. He shouldn't be put up to that scrutiny.

reply

I don't get why they needed to censor the costumes. It's not like they can't show those things. I mean, the usherette was scantily clad, so why not them?

reply

I don't think it was censorship as much as a questionable costuming choice.

No garter and thigh highs?
There was no Transvestite!!

Where's the sexual tension between a Brad and a good-looking gal?
Sure, Laverne's trans-gender, but Frank's not, so the whole
"Oh, Crap, I just had sex with a guy" scenario never gets played on.
. . . for either Brad or Janet.

As for Frank's costume, how can you not introduce Herr Furter in his bustier?
It's like putting an Oompah-Loompah in a Top Hat & Tails; it's just not an Oompah-Loompah anymore.
(What the heck was that crane doing there, anyway.?)

It might be because Laverne still has her male parts and didn't want them to bulge out.

reply

Really, what do you expect from Faux? Phony, pretend-to-be-clean Faux?

Columbia in gold lame stretch pants. :P

And Frank in a dress covered in hand prints a la the Wilson ball in Cast Away....
