Parody

It's totally a parody of Rocky Horror. Every time I was beginning to enjoy this rendition, something comical was thrown in - like the narrator's butler screaming at the sound of thunder - to ruin all the fun.

Tim Curry seemed like he was feeling a great deal of anguish and remorse for signing up to do his role. He... even... talked... like... something... was... wrong (because he has no neck?!) lol...

Singing along with it was rather difficult at times due to unusual changes in tempo and things.

What was the deal with Riff's cheesy space guitar? He looked awfully goofy with that thing.

It's just full of goofy, overacted melodrama yet with so many flat emotions where it really counted. It's a parody!

The audience participation scenes were mostly pointless and didn't capture many of the funny/ironic things which can be yelled. At least the newspapers, popcorn, party hats, and Scott toilet paper were used.

Despite the obviously satirical acting, I liked the whole cast except for Eddie.

3/10 for me, and I really tried to like it.

Sadly Tim Curry wasn't acting like that because he regretted doing it but rather he in poor health due to a stroke. That's why he only moves one arm and his speech pattern is off

Yeah there were so many, too many pre-planned quirky moments that they became distracting. I used the word "parody" in reference to Cox's performance. Though it seems like she was parodying Divine meets Velma Kelley more than Frank.

The choreography was horrific! It constantly seemed like he thought, "let's throw this odd move in the middle of the action" which instead of creating something unique instead just sticks out like "an odd move"!

I could've handled Riff grab a guitar and play a couple of licks and then toss it away but he had it too long. Less is more, even the original used that philosophy.

I couldn't watch it straight through, I had to stop and start and take in little pieces, rest up and recover from seeing what I just witnessed...

In my opinion, Riff playing the guitar (Riff playing some riffs) has the same purpose as the painting of American Gothic had in the original.

In the original, the pitchfork in the painting later becomes the instrument of Frank's destruction. In the remake, it's the guitar that Riff plays.
