This was just awful
It lacked all of the heart and joy of the original. It made me kind of sad.

I completely agree. Everything about it is awful. Laverne Cox is terrible, the whole cast is. The production is so tacky. The singing is atrocious.
They butchered it 125%
I will say that Victoria Justice was good as Janet. Other than that, there was nothing redeeming about this version. Not only was it bad on it's own, but it was so bad that it tarnished the original.

If it's any consolation, people also hated the original when it first came out.
shareWell, the difference is that the original had heart and it went on and gained popularity. This version will be quickly forgotten.
