Rushed with no comedy


The story was there as were the music numbers but they utterly failed because the characters were what made this a cult.

Tim curry was menacing yet nailed the comedic timing Cox could never ever tried.
Janet and Brad couldn't sing or find the parody aspects the original had.

Those highschool musicals on Disney could've done a better production.

The original movie everyone [minus Brad and Janet] seemed to be having a good time.

I always found it fascinating that in the original, even the Transylvanian conventioneers stood out. There was the guy who was eating something and made such a production of it. The tall guy with the long hair. And the old lady. And in this version not even the primary players stood out very much.

Speaking of The Transylvanians... the originals, here's all of their names and bios. Many have passed on now, not the tall guy though! One was married Richard O'Brien.
A very racially diverse lot, as well as sizes.
