Why is Lavern Cox getting praise for this?

Is it because people would call it transphobic if they said she sucks? Cause she SUCKS! Her singing voice is flat, she has no concept of subtlety (example: in the original "You look like you're both pretty groovy" followed by a short facial expression by Frank that says "well...maybe not") and I'm sorry but casting a trans-woman to play Frank is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. "I'm not much of a man, by the light of day" oh really? I never would have guessed that vagina and boobs having person. That's a nice Maya doomsday clock you've got there...why are you wearing that?

LOL! Yeah I think I lost some FB friends after flatly stating my displeasure for her. I have many trans friends and some were very "unsettled" that she took the part. But hardly anyone would flat-out just diss her. F-her, she's no trans icon or role model. In fact her emphasis on boobs and glamour make her an unsettling model for trans people young and old.

Being trans is hard, and not always pretty. If I had it beat into my head that I had to look like her standards I probably wouldn't make it as transgender. I wouldn't be a glamour-puss. I mean, I'm not trans. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Yada yada.

I thought she did pretty well. She didn't get overshadowed by Tim Curry because she played a completely different Frank N Furter, if she tried to replicate what Tim did and failed (which she definitely would have) then her career would be over but because she changed it uo quite a lot, she could make it her own and she shined in the role.
