Like a highschool production

Production look beautiful but the fact was that it was just a pale comparison to the original almost like a High School production none of the perfomer had the power or the heart of the original performers so every character came off as a pale shadow of The Originals

reply

Exactly, lack of heart with too much gloss and sheen, strictly for the Glee and short attention span crowd.

I love the original and I wanted to like this version, but there was nothing to like. It was a farce, like some kids got together and filmed it. It was sad to watch it when the first one was so amazing.

reply

You're wrong. Many of them were better than the original. Including Reeve Carney, Victoria Justice, Ben Vereen and Adam Lambert.

reply

None of them were better than the original.

reply

If by better... you mean far, far worse, like... gives your eyes and ears cancer worse.

This thing was the musical equivalent of My Chemical Romance... tries to look all punk, but are about as punk as Justin Bieber.

reply

Agreed, but have seen far better amateur production's than this horrible version!!!!!!
To be honest I've seen quite a few, and pretty much all of them were better than than this!!!!
As for casting..... dreadful

reply

Original was 100x better. Cox tried too hard with that accent. And I could not stand the girl that played Colombia. I think the only two who where good where Brad and Riff Ratt.

reply

Riff Raff was too rock star for me, it didn't work. Also in the new version did they ever mention that Riff Raff and Magenta were brother and sister?

Did anyone in production know what Medusa is known for? Instead of stone, they looked like they were playing freeze tag. If they didn't want them naked, they still could have been stone, with stone clothes or real ones.

It was a complete train wreck (except the Usherette).

Too clean and polished and costumes straight from Hot Topic & Spirit Halloween.

The acting (oh, god) was painful. It was as if they were handed the script and had 5 minutes to study their lines and do their best. Just so awful! I've seen several Rocky Horror stage performances that were better performed than this so-called "tribute".

I'm not sure if FOX was targeting the Generation Y or Generation Z crowd, but it totally striped everything that made Rocky Horror a cult classic.
