The actress who's playing Janet isn't on the main cast list and I don't know how to change it so that she can get the credit she deserves. As it is, you have to click the extended cast and scroll all the way down to the second page. My guess is that an angry fan of the original put her there.
I was wondering the same thing! Could it be that her role has been cut down to a minor part? Since I haven't seen it (and, frankly, don't think I will), I don't know. It seems quite unlikely, though.
And you should watch it. it's fun. I ended up putting both up on my computer and watching them side by side the second time to see the differences. For me, remakes are a chance to show how a culture has changed, as the changes need to speak to the next generation audience. See for yourself if you find anything.
Perhaps because there's no character named Janet Weise in this production.
However, the actress who plays Janet Weiss is listed with half of the main cast alphabetically near the bottom.
As mentioned in the post below yours who asked the same question earlier, IMDb does this very often with films and TV movies (no I don't know why). Some of the main cast either gets scattered about, like in "The House of the Spirits" where Meryl Streep and Glenn Close get listed below nameless characters, or like Rocky where they get into odd clumps. I wouldn't get my drawers in a bunch about it or else you'll have to correct thousands of other entries that have similar irregularities.
I'm not disagreeing with that, but as I just pointed out Meryl Streep (you've heard of her?), Glenn Close, Antonio Banderas, Winona Ryder & Jeremy Irons are the stars of a 1993 film and they're listed nowhere near the top. In fact people like "Soldier #1" is above Meryl! I happened to notice because I just watched that film, but it's very common across this entire site.
Relax, she got paid, her name is in the film credits and if she's lucky her career will survive that... movie.
Admittedly she was one of the better performers in the entire thing, though with so many stank performances I suppose it's not that hard to float to the top.
IMDb goes by longest credits list in the movie, usually the end scroll. And sometimes those are listed in alphabetical order or in order of appearance, hence minor players being listed above the stars. It's not the most common thing but it's not that rare. Historically on stage the main star was usually billed last, for example.
This is not my signature. This is IMDb's automatic translation of my signature.
