Still Confused by this Film

The premise seemed simple enough. Hercules is a fake, everything we know in myth is a lie, it was all orchestrated by a team yadda yadda. However--they then proceed to show Herc perform some ridiculously superhuman things like the wagon-throwing scene. I ended up confused by the end of the film trying to figure out whether or not he had actually discovered his inner godhood or some garbage because of how unrealistically strong he was portrayed as. I don't care how big the guy is, that was just stupid, and flew in the face of what the plot was trying to convey. I still have no idea if they tried to show that there was a supernatural element to him because of it.
