scripts get passed around Hollywood, writers might show scripts to different studios.

some studios will pass on a script and then go and do their own version of the story, it has happened in the past.

Excellent, you're a real movie hound!

There are more then you think and some times the second or thired movie is downgraded to a TV movie of kept in the can for a few years or only released outside the US or all three

Wwhen Armageddon & Deep Impact came out a Movie called Meteor was downgraded to a TV Movie

When Keven Costmore's Robin Hood came out Patrick Bergan's Robin Hood was downgraded to a TV Movie and a third Robin Hood movie was canceled

Megamind & Despicable Me

Because "they" aren't the same group of people.

Aside from monkey's list, why would THEY put two grocery stores in the same town? Why would THEY hang up TWO traffic lights facing the same way at an intersection? Why would THEY have two pies at the same picnic?

reply

The Aylum film company does it on purpose to piggy back on a bigger budget film.

They do it for the lulz. They know they make crap (or, did. They're getting better.)
