This was fun, my first actual 3 musketeers adaptation

I don't think I actually ever watched a real Three Musketeers film before, only being familiar with the idea from the novel (not having read it either) that there are 3 of them plus one other named D'Artagnan.

Well, I don't know if other adaptations of this movie are as fun as this one, or how faithful this film is to the source material, but I really enjoyed watching this. And I am going to watch the second one shortly.

Really? Well, if that's the case then definitely start with the 1970s movie. That one is quite a lot of fun. The 1990s version that Disney made is a bit cheesy but in the right way. The 1948 adaptation with Gene Kelly is also good too. There are others of varying quality. But those three are my favorites.

The 1993 Disney film is a surprising amount of fun. I think that the casting choices for the musketeers is questionable--Charlie Sheen doesn't fit at all--but that is made up for by the excellent casting of Tim Carry, who gives an outstanding performance as Richeliu. It also is surprisingly dark at times for an early 90s Disney film.

There was an adaptation in 2011 as well. It is a very loose adaptation of the source material, and honestly not a great film, but I thought it was kind of enjoyable for what it was.
