Don't Waste Your Time. Awful.
Can't believe Focus just didn't leave this on Peacock and actually gave it a theatrical release. Performances are good, but that's it. Boring, not funny, and nothing new to say on the subject. Skip it.

shareI think it was a mistake filming it as a comedy. When it's serious, it's far more effective. Regina Hall acted her ass off in this movie.
shareTo the OP:
It was made for a theatrical release to begin with. It's a good film, regardless of what you have to say about it---which is just your opinion. Went and saw it at the theatre, and found it to be a good film with some interesting observations about the black church, and having grown up in one, I found it to be pretty realistic. Just because you couldn't relate to it or understand it, that dosen't make a bad movie. You just didn't get it, that's all. It's not a bad movie simply because you bashed it.
I'm still not sure what the point was if this movie. They are scams that only care about money and sex? Hasn't that been done hundreds of times? Everyone (with any common sense) knows that's what televangelists are all about.
There was really nothing funny about it at all.
