Why the "Karen" meme came into being.

The "Karen" character was originally created to vilify people who demand decent customer service from lazy, incompetent store and restaurant staff. If you rejected your incorrect order at a restaurant, or complained to the manager at a store that the clerks were on their phones instead of serving you, you were shamed on social media as a "Karen". It's just a smokescreen for bad employees to hide behind. There's a reason why this stereotype never came into play before Millennials and their loose interpretation of the work ethic entered the workforce.

All the racial baggage did not get tacked on to "Karens" until all the peaceful, yet fiery stuff started to happen.
