I agree. I'd argue it's better than Scream 3. Not that Scream 3 isn't enjoyable, but it was a lot more campy to the point of being goofy. I felt like Scream 4 was more of a return to form for the franchise. I enjoyed the l dynamics between the new and the old characters and I think Jill had a solid motive that's personally my second favorite of the series. It gets way more hate than it deserves.

The only thing I absolutely hate is that it looks like someone smeared Vaseline on the camera lens.

Having just rewatched it for the first time in 10 or 11 years, yeah it's a great movie. A lot better than I remember it being.

As of now I'd consider it second best in the franchise, though I haven't seen the new one and I haven't watched 2 or 3 in about 5 years.
