Seems to have a lot of fans on twitter and Letterboxd
I'm guessing they were kids when they first saw it in 2011. It's not horrible, but just feels like a half-hearted reunion cash-in.

shareWas 24 when this came out; enjoyed it quite a bit then, although not without reservations. Watched it now for the first time since theatres, and I didn't like it nearly as much. A lot of the "meta" elements feel clunky to me (especially the opening) and, even though I am sympathetic to such attitudes, there's definitely a whiff of "get off my lawn" from a film where a mid-40s guy writes for a director in his early-70s about these kids today with their cell phones and social media and horror remakes and such. Plus the social media world of 2011 seems retrospectively quaint and relatively harmless compared to the all-encompassing hellscape of today. That said, I think it all comes together for a pretty solid third act. I'd probably still say it's better than the third film.
