"Fuck Bruce Willis."

I haven't seen the movie in years, but I think the two cops had a conversation a few scenes before they were killed that mentioned Bruce Willis that led up to the Bruce Willis line. I'd have to watch the movie again though to clarify stuff and "read between the lines" to get the meaning of the line. I just remember that there was a good reason for the line. I just haven't seen the movie in a couple years to easily recall stuff. Maybe someone will be able to give a better answer/explanation before I can.

It’s a dreadful line but I wonder if Kevin Smith had something to do with it - he hated Bruce Willis after working with him on Cop Out and found him to be a vicious Prima Donna who was extremely hostile to Smith personally.

Smith had a very good relationship with the Weinsteins, who produced most of his films, and he appeared in Scream 3, as well as featuring Wes Craven directing a pretend Scream sequel in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back the same year.

A copy of Clerks (1994) is visible in Scream and Clerks II (2006) appears in this film. He also had Adam Brody on his podcast, Brody plays the buddy of the cop who utters the line, and he also starred alongside Willis in Cop Out - so he likely witnessed what a c*nt he was.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Smith’s close relationship with the creative team, plus his legendary loathing of Willis, led to ‘fuck Bruce Willis’ being an odd yet prominent line in the film.

I think it was more like a jealous rant, like he could survive but they couldn't as mortal cops.

Hilarious how Ghostface puts the knife completely into Anthony Anderson's skull and he's magically still alive.
