Sidney Prescott's assumed age in each movie

The last time i put this posting up asking this very question it wasn't three responses in before a bunch of idiots started arguing over irrelevant semantics that had nothing to do with what i asked. So I am going to try this AGAIN... my question is simple and the response should involve numerical digits. period. how old is sidney precott in each movie? Neve Campbell was 23 in Scream 1 playing a high school senior so we assume her age was 17. Scream 2 is meant to depict her in college, two years after the movie so her age would be 19. Scream 3 specifically says "two years after the second movie" so it's assumed she's 21. and scream 4 is universally known to be exactly ten years after the third one so that'd make her 31. So the breakdown...

Her age in each movie:

Scream: 17 (real age 23)
Scream 2: 19 (real age 25)
Scream 3: 21 (real age 27)
Scream 4: 31 (real age 37)

Do people agree or am i off? Again im all for hearing people's perspective on this subject but please dont engage in arguments that have nothing to do with this. im not interested in listening.

Those would be the ages I guess as well.

correction with the exact ages that Neve had when she filming the movies:
Scream: 17 (real age 22)
Scream 2: 19 (real age 23)
Scream 3: 21 (real age 25)
Scream 4: 31 (real age 36)

reply

Can I ask how she's only be 23 and not 24 if, Scream 2 is two years after the original? or are you talking about her age from the month they first started shooting?

reply

1: 17
2: 19
3: 21
4: 32

reply

i thought Scream 4 was to take place exactly ten years to the date after Scream 3. So wouldnt that make her age 31? Where did you get 32?

reply

Roman says the Maureen plotting happened "four years ago". Scream happened a year after that, and 2 happened two years after Scream, leaving only one year to transpire between 2 and 3. And 4 is supposed to take place on the fifteenth anniversary of Scream.

Scream: 17 (says so in the script)
Scream 2: 19
Scream 3: 20
Scream 4: 32

I always thought S2 took place one year after S1 to mesh with Sidney and Randy just starting college? No?

reply

Scream: 18
Scream 2: 19
Scream 3: 22
Scream 4: 32

Scream 2 takes places two years after Scream. But in reality Scream 2 came out only one year later.

reply

Scream is set in September 1995. Scream 2 is set in April 1997.

reply

Well and one of Scream 3's many mess-ups has Roman saying "4 years ago, I actually found her" when talking about Maureen. So that suggested that Maureen was killed in 95, Scream happened in 96, Scream 2 happened in 97, and Scream 3 happened in 99, which would mean that Sidney was 20 in Scream 3 and 30 years old in Scream 4.

So, it's unclear.

Or Scream 2 and 3 are the ones set only one year apart. It feels longer, but I don't there's anything in the actual movie contradicting that. Stab 2 is in theaters in Scream 3 (you see an ad for it on a bus in the opening), and like the real Scream 2, it could have come out only a year after the first.

On the other hand, Scream and Scream 2 have to be more than one year apart since it's said in dialogue that the Woodsboro killings happened "a couple of years ago".

Maureen's death - 1994
Scream - 1995
Scream 2 - 1997
Scream 3 - 1998

Two things date the films:

At the beginning of Scream 2, the box office clock at the theater reads 12 APR 97, which means Scream 2 was set in April of 1997.

For Scream 4, there's a prop hospital bracelet (we don't clearly see it in the film, but photos of it have been posted online, I think for an auction) that gives the date as 9/28/10, so Scream 4 was set in September 2010, which is consistent with Scream 2 being set in 1997, since Scream 2 is said to happen two years after Scream (actually, with these dates, more like a year and a half) and Scream 4 is meant to occur fifteen years after the original.

Therefore the dates of the films are:

Scream: September 1995
Scream 2: April 1997
Scream 3: 1998 (Month unknown, but probably late in the year)
Scream 4: September 2010

All that's left to wonder is just how fast the Stab films are made......

Scream: 17
Scream 2: 19
Scream 3: 22
Scream 4: 32

Scream 4 takes place 10 years after the "Woodsboro Massacre" which I believe was Scream 1.

reply

Let me edit that... The movie isn't consistent about the time. Repeatedly they say it's the 10th Anniversary of the Woodsboro Massacre but also at one point, Gale says she and Dewey have been married for 10 years. Now I am really confused.
