How is it a love letter to horror fans? Cliches are bad and the main premise is mostly just the Evil Dead, but with no likeable characters.

All the horror tropes.

Cliches are bad

Tropes. And they're being satirized and homaged.

the main premise is mostly just the Evil Dead, but with no likeable characters.

Evil Dead is not the only horror cabin movie. And I liked the characters.

Let's be bad guys.

Only charcter I like was the pothead. If they want a twist on the cliches, why didn't he become the jock or the whore to the virgin. Also, what other movie acts like the Evil Dead?

Didn't say twist. I said satirized. But if you want a twist, Marty did kill one of the Buckners single handedly.

Also, what other movie acts like the Evil Dead?

Evil Dead II (of course), Wrong Turn, Pumpkin Head, Cabin Fever, Antichrist, Dog Soldiers, Horrors of Spider Island, The Killer Shrews.

There are plenty of cabin horror movies. Evil Dead wasn't the first and won't be the last.

Let's be bad guys.

You love this movie way too much, don't you? The ending was not a twist at all. A twist is supposed to suprise you, not confuse or even anger you. Gods aren't a bad idea, but you have to make some real freaking logic on the whole backstory of the sacarfices to why the teens even go to this boring ass cabin!

This movie also reminds me of God Bless America. Killing stupid people for some dumb reason.

I love it just the perfect amount.

The ending was not a twist at all.

Actually, depending on the writer's intentions, a twist can do any or all three of the above.

I think you're having a separate conversation in your head that I'm not privy to. I never said the ending was a twist. You keep bringing them up. Why?

Gods aren't a bad idea, but you have to make some real freaking logic on the whole backstory of the sacarfices to why the teens even go to this boring ass cabin!

Again, satirizing horror tropes.

Let's be bad guys.

Don't waste your time.
Not unlike a neutered dog, he doesn't get it.

reply

Haha!

alexalberttt really doesn't get it. Don't worry though, some of us actually understand what a satire is! (Not to mention the definition/idea of a twist.) I mean, seriously, a twist isn't supposed to surprise you or confuse you?!?!? I think Alex doesn't understand what a twist is. That's ok, dictionarys are still a thing, he just has to figure out how to use one.
