Is this supposed to be serious, or a parody?

Based on a book, action comedy according to wikipedia. Not what I expected

I think it looks cool and also looks like something different upon a movie landscape where so many films look like other films we've already see a hundred times.

Yea, an Action Comedy is what it is. It could have been either a serious action film or a straight up satire, but clearly it’s going to be both action-packed and humorous (maybe meta) like the two previous films by Bullet Train’s director were.

So in short… no, it won’t be so serious. But also not a parody.

Looks like a John Wick movie by way of Deadpool.
