She's at the rodeo, next to Powell. Read that it was complete coincidence by geographic chance she was cast in this before it was noticed who she was. But she's supposedly not the same character here. But I feel like if they do another one, they'll bring her back and flesh her out as Jo's mom for the sake of connective tissue.

shareWhat? This makes no sense. The actress who played Jo's mom is Rusty Schwimmer. I don't recall any other flashback with Jo's mom. There is a scene where Jo and her team are driving through her aunt's hometown after the tornado destroyed it. Jo is looking out the window as they drive past a family who reminds her of her own Mom, Dad and herself as a child. April Warren is the actress that played the mother standing with her husband and daughter. She is not Jo's mother.
The article linked even states this:
"Warren first portrayed "Flashback Mom" in the Wakita sequence in the original Twister movie when the crew tried to find Aunt Meg. Warren was uncredited for the role meant to remind Jo of her tragic past since the family looked just like hers."
