the definition of 'spoil your paper'

"There is one question before you, and one answer is required. If you try to communicate with myself or the guard, you will be disqualified. If you spoil your paper, intentionally or accidentally, you will be disqualified. If you choose to leave this room for any reason, you will be disqualified. Any questions? Good. Oh wait, one other thing: by 'spoil your paper' I mean don't write on it or rip it or anything like that. But feel free to take a p*ss on it if you want. I don't see how that could be considered spoiling it. So, ya know, that's allowed. Anyway, there were no questions, right? Okay. Break a leg!"

The candidates weren't allowed to spoil their own paper. White pissed on the Asian lady's paper, not his own.

I was thinking the same thing. Didn't black (I think) also hold his under the sprinklers when they went off? I don't remember what the others did with their papers but they must have gotten partly wet. That's spoiling to me.

The reason why he was not disqualified was due to the fact that it was another person who created the event. He may have let it get wet but he wasn't the one who set the sprinklers off.

That's why the lady protected her paper from getting wet prior to setting the system off and I suspect the others who were protecting their paper were doing so out of doubt and uncertainty.
