I want to see a Blu-Ray 'super-cut' of the two films.

Use the narrative device/structure of the first film(Dilios narrating before the battle of Plataea) and simply cut in all of the events and sequences of Rise of an Empire where they occur chronologically.

Drop the Gorgo narrating device from the first film, and bring in David Wenham to do additional narration voice-work to 'bridge' the two narratives. So that the entire thing is Dilios telling the story.

I'd also consider dropping the entire Gorgo sub-plot from the first film. None of her early scenes...but everything once the 300 leave Sparta is a little unnecessary, her dealing with Theron, speaking in front of the council and revealing Theron to be a traitor.

In the scheme of a 3.5 hour mega-movie, that sub-plot would have decreased purpose.

The director of the first 300 and the director of the second one agree as well. Will we see a supercut this year? Don't think so. But I do expect one in 2015. A fan made one that is.

Fan made? I don't think the studio would want an official supercut of the two movies, so it's left to the fans to do that. And I've already found one. Unfortunately, it cut about 72 minutes to have a runtime of about 147 minutes.

However, my question is: are there any fanedits that blend the two movies together without cutting so much material? Maybe even adding some of the deleted scenes making for an ultimate cut?

Yeah, since both films were from the same studio, and Snyder was so involved in both...and seems to have such a great partnership with WB going...it is hard to imagine a logical reason as to why they wouldn't shell out a little bit of money to make it happen.

I mean, how many times have they paid Oliver Stone to do a another cut of Alexander? Theatrical, Director's, Final Cut, and then the 'Ultimate' cut for Blu Ray.

I too think that 70+ minutes would be a bit much to cut.

I mean, there are obviously some cases where the material of the two films overlaps a bit...and thus it would be better to pick 'one or the other', and there are elements and scenes that, in the context of a combined narrative, won't work as well.....such as Gorgo's sub-plot in the first film.

But I'm not sure if over an hour of material needs to be nixed from the combined narrative.
