The disclaimer at the ending makes the movie seem more believable

All of the way through I thought that there was no way these guys got into this much trouble, but that then disclaimer came up. On the surface it was an admission of everything that I suspected, but it could also be seen as the film makers trying to cover their butts because there's more truth here than fiction. Either way, it's a nice way to mess with the audience.

What disclaimer are you talking about? I must have missed it? Did you mean the info in the end about the guys going to prison, the wife not divorcing him and the mobster fleeing the states?

reply

No. After all of that, it states that even though the movie is inspired by true events, it is largely fictional. It's like some sort of reverse psychology ("if they say it isn't true then it must be").
