the power of...a piece of paper...(spoilers)

two problems with the contract at the end...

1) the lawyer wouldnt agree-he knows about the illegal site

2) surely he could have made a fake contract anyway even if he wasnt forced into that situation!? how much power can a piece of paper really have!?

reply

the lawyer wasnt thinking... he was so gleeful to have Jack out, been waiting for it for years...

but I agree theres a problem with the date of that contract getting Jack off the hook... the Feds already know that JaCk has been running the company all year, so the date on that contract is not going to be taken as valid.

reply

would have thought a lawyer of all people would always be careful with contracts....

reply

1) James Caan's character never seemed very concerned with the under-age models, he probably figured he could pin it on Danny Z.

2) The contract was extremely powerful because the feds didn't want to prosecute Jack in the first place.

reply

EXACTLY - The feds new it was a sham, but they were happy to go along.

reply

Don't forget, James Caan's character also thought that part of the site was taken down a while back, and didn't think Jack knew about it. He probably figured any federal prosecution would have happened already and they were in the clear.

reply

The lawyer told them to take the site down but they forgot, and it wasnt until a couple years later the FBI warned him about the website, and he was helping the feds so it was in their best interest to keep him out of trouble.

Seems pretty plothole free actually.
