Based on true story ?? ABOUT WHO!!?

This is based on a true story but its very foggy who these characters really are..
is the company in this movie based on paycom or epassport?

If something is based on a true story I know not all characters are real but who in this story is supposed to be who in real life?
Some think its about this article (which it could be)
http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2001/0917/068_print.html
but Christopher Mallick was also involved with a few other online programs such as epassport, which has alot of problems with it, but was based around the same time as the film.

Any ideas please? I love true stories but, I do like to read about the actual story afterwords and this movie does not give me a clear picture on who these characters are.

Luke Wilson's charcater Jack Harris = Christopher Mallick?
Giovanni Ribisi's character Wayne Beering = Co_founder of paycom(Timothy Umbreit) or Maybe this chracter is based on the co founder of epassport?
Gabriel Macht's character Buck Dolby = Creator of the software for paycom(Laith Alsarraf) or maybe The creator of the software of epassport?
Laura Ramsey's character Audrey Dawn = Any ideas?
Rade Serbedzija's character Nikkita Sokoloff = Any ideas?

I mean any of these characters (or all could be fictional) but, does anyone have any ideas on these? This story seems pretty real(or just well written) so i assume some of these characters must be based loosely on real friends/partners of mallick.

Please if you have any ideas or even guess's please post them.

before the end credits:

"While suggested by actual events, this motion picture is in its entirety a work of fiction. All character names haven been invented, all characters have been composited or invented, and all incidents have been fictionalized."

Figures, since internet porn was invented the same day as the internet and there never was a moment in time that someone could actually say "there is no porn on the internet"

Oh and also in 1996 nobody had broadband internet, well except the swedes maybe :P

Why don't you just look at the 1st "Producer" credit, listed on this site?
