I watched this on Netflix a few nights ago, but one thing I didn't quite understand was why, if Audrey was so happily set up with her sugar daddy Luke Wilson's character, did she participate in the orgy which I assume was thrown for recreational purposes and not for work. She had presented herself to him earlier as a shrewd business woman who had her head on straight and was unconcerned about social moral constraints about making money. She only did solo scenes for her website and had made a play at Luke Wilson based on that.

It just seems out of character for her to engage in a sex party with 2 men (and probably several others) just for the sex especially when she has such a nice setup with Luke Wilson financially (which she is obviously afraid of losing as indicated by the breakup scene) and there would seemingly be no money nor was it being filmed for presentation. Most pornstars (Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Sunny Leone for example) seem to take a back seat performance-wise if not forgoing it altogether when they aren't relying entirely on performing for money or when they enter into serious relationships.

She didn't have drug problem, severe emotional problems, or financial ones. She wasn't an out of control sex nympho either so why would she jeapordize her relationship with Luke Wilson (even if she didn't love him, she at least loved what he could give her and she knew what he had jeapordized/left for her)?

I thought this might be a question that others would be intrigued in, the character's motivation for doing what she did is questionable. I've checked some of Laura Ramsey's other movie roles, and she seems to have cornered the market on playing flaky sexually deviant hoebags, perhaps that's the only reason the writers needed?

I don't think you're taking into account what kind of character the movie had built her up as up until that point in the movie. She had made it a point to establish that her primary motivation for being in the porn business was to make money. She didn't do hardcore pornography or even lesbian porn; she only did solo work on her websites which by itself was apparently enough to maintain her as a "hot" star in the business. It's also arguable that she hooked up with Luke Wilson because of his position in the business and the financial security that he would be able to provide her.

She didn't just cheat on him privately where he might not find out, but publicly where people in the sex industry, performers and film crew members were present (at the very least Denny Z). She was not so stupid that she couldn't have known that Luke Wilson might end up hearing about it from some source even if he hadn't caught her in the act.

She didn't come off to me as some chick who was just there to have a good time so she decided to join an orgy.

Perhaps she had no motivations at all. She just purely doesn't give a flying dog about Luke's feeling or image.

She's hot, evil and a porn star. I am pretty convinced she is capable of such self-absorbed act.

Sure, I could beleive it too, I just had a hard time beleiving that she was that stupid...

Nah, the breakup scene with Luke Wilson clearly portrayed the fact that she wanted him to stay with her, selfish motivations withstanding, and the way she reacted violently to his rejection, I mean she could have just rolled her eyes and flipped him the bird but she got really emotional for somebody who's simply "hot, evil, and doesn't care".

Her character's stupid if she thought he would never find out, and it's very evident she cares about his reaction, I don't even think she even knew that he knew she'd been a naughty little slut behind his back.

It just seemed like a convenient way to get rid of her so that Luke Wilson could undergo his redemption after reaping the windfall of his immoral choices throughout the film. Stuff like that and all the not-so-deliberate Martin Scorsese "homages" throughout the film are probably why this film is as substandard as it was.

You're right it was kind of out of character. I guess it was a way of showing us how uncertain and shaky that world was, and that you can't trust anybody in that world. Maybe.

uh what he(Martin Scorcese)is the one who ripped this movie off with The Wolf Of Wall Street. which I thought of while watching this movie. this movie while not great at least has a point to it unlike TWOW and at least you care about the main character in this unlike in TWOW.

She didn't care emotionally yes but she didn't want to leave him, she was only acting as if she doesn't care and when she found out he was getting rid of her she panicked
doing that might be for the money, as it is the reason for doing anything else
also relations and connections
and she didn't know Luke would be there, he had absolutely no connection to Danny Z through the whole movie until he knew about child pornography and went to beat him
probably porn is like gangs, they are gangs that don't talk or deal with other gangs
so Danny Z's gang had no relation with Luke's
i think you would find that in porn, performers who work with some others but never with the rest.
