Why is it difficult to stop on line porn?

On the net there are countless sites that are roaming free. When it is illegal to view this, why can't internet providers filter this material out?

reply

You say it is illegal to view porn. Not true. As the movie mentioned many times, only underage porn is illegal.

reply

I don't know about other countries, but in the United States, pornography is perfectly legal. Some sites will offer an "Are you 18 or over?" question page, but I think even that is voluntary.

The internet itself was designed to be an uncensored world. Put up whatever website you like, as long as it doesn't break laws (drugs, weapons, murder, the aforementioned child pornography). Internet providers (ISPs) do not filter the material for fear of backlash of their customers. China is a big-time example of this. Their censoring issues are world-renoknowned.
An individual can put filters on their own internet experience, via parental controls, browser options, Google Search options, etc., so I do not feel internet providers need to do so. Many ISPs do, however, notify individuals and/or law enforcement when they notice laws are being broken on a website, whether it's harming another person, copyright infringement, etc.

Pornography is an enormous money-maker, as shown in the film. At one time, it was what WAS profitable on the internet. One third of the money generated from movies was from pornography. I may not agree with smoking or gambling, but there are legal websites for the latter. I don't go to them, but all the more power to them for having the sites and making money at it.

why did you say it was what WAS profitable on the internet? isn't it still profitable on the internet?

reply

The law of demand and offer, like drug use.

You mean kiddie porn? It's because high-level government officials are involved, and always will be. The fact that this movie makes it seem like the FBI can forgive murder but not porn with 16-year-olds is blatant propaganda--the FBI would provide an accountant with babies to rape if he would inform on tax cheaters.

But if you are seeing "countless sites" you should try to gradually transition to older 18-year-old MILFs

Sex is not bad.

reply

Because it still makes money even when it is illegal
the interest of viewers and the number of visitors = expensive advertisement
so they don't go out hunting all those porn sites that are illegal, even though they pretend to fight it and call it porn piracy
they can stop them and it is so easy but they don't and i think advertisements pay off.
