Do Zombies still exist in the lore? Spoilers

In 7 they made the game seem supernatural, but it was just a virus.
I haven't played 8 but it looks like vampires.
I know 4 and 5 had a virus.

So are zombies done is all the supernatural stuff a virus?

It's a type of mold, same thing as in 7. Not the T virus from previous games.

Seems weird tbh. Could have been the start of a new franchise

I think it's more of a reboot. If you liked 7 you should check it out. It's about the same. Seemed very short though.

I will def check out just wanted to know the status of the lore given how 7 felt different compared to the other games
