Just saw this movie and I agree with others on the board that it seemed like it was badly edited. Heard that this was done to make it less dark for the US distributors? (rumor?)

I would really like a director's cut of this, I think some essential scenes seem to be missing, like Serena and Galloway actually talking to each other and her asking him to kill the child. And how did the sheriff know that Galloway was her 'right hand man' and that they were plotting to kill the child?

I hope that there will be a director's cut dvd (with a better musical score), Susanne Bier is a wonderful director and it feels like her work was butchered for the sake of the distributors.

Would have been a better movie if they made it a ton darker. Gave it a 5/10 as it is

Show her starting the fire that killed her family.

Have her getting drunk and sleeping with everyone.

Have her watching the baby more and plotting and giving the order to kill.

Maybe a bit of self harm.

Also sounds like a successful (and kinda hyped) director trying to make it internationally and trying to make it look like it wasn't her fault after blowing it completely.

I'd like this too.

Major issues I have with the movie are the vital story changes from the book. Don't think the directors cut will fix that but it may improve it...
