Studio ruining the movie

To my understanding the studio interfered heavily in the editing of this movie and to my judgement clearly ruined what could have been an amazing movie.
You can tell that the cinematography is great, the story and the acting. If seems however that they removed a crucial centrepiece of it. To me there is like an exposition: Their passionate lovestory and her making a name for herself among the workers and then there is the end where she tries to kill the child and he protects it. The middle part of her going over the edge after loosing the baby is almost entirely ommitted.
I just wished studios would stick to their business (making money) and let the artists do their jobs.
Thoughts? Comments?

Since I am not american or even a native english speaker it tough for me to comment on his Boston accent but to me it sounded ok.
I agree that the location did not look right but personally I could forgive this, since the story could take place anywhere. The should have just mentioned a different location then in the movie. I can imagine Oregon might have been about right?
As to the stubble I thought it was kind of appropriate given the rough enviroment, which is why I wasn't bothered by her wearing pants either.
Do you have a link about Bradley Cooper interfering? I would like to read it. I really like him as an actor but if he has done this, it was a mistake. Actors shouldn't "overrule" the director. In some cases it worked just fine but I believe generally the director should be allowed to make his/her job.

To me it sounds, like there was something they wanted to have edited out.
Maybe some jucy sex scene or something.
It sounds like they feared something would "damage" their status.
There is a hint when it is mentioned "it is not her fault she got pregnant out of wedlock", that there might be a raping involved. Some actors are extremely sensitve and even decline filming scence like that.
