The Swamp House Set

It has been driving me nuts, but I KNOW that I've seen the house in the swamp (where they go to find John Malkovich's character) in a movie a long while back. I'm thinking it was either a Van Damme or Seagal fight-fest. Can anyone verify this?

Aside from that set nagging my memory, I found the movie to be great fun, and taken as an action/comedy it works like a Swiss watch. Sure, it's not a Ludlum or Le Carre novel, but taken for what it is, it's a fun few hours.

I'm thinking it was actually that god-awful movie with the wrestler as a marine or something returning home and that chick from Nip/Tuck as his wife. I forget the villain. But she gets taken and they head off into the swamp ...

The swamp house reminded me of that shack that John Cena stopped at in "The Marine".

EVERYONE WHO QUESTIONS THIS. i actually noticed this too. and the be honest it looks like the house from the film WarGames with Mathew Broderick. where he and the girl go to that mans house (cant think of his name) but hes like the father of the boy controlling the computer or whatever and when they go to see him i think hes flying a remote control airplane or something. it might be the same house but i could be wrong.

i dont recall the house in the swamp before, but the only movie that came to my mind was No Mercy, a 1986 film starring richard gere, kim basinger and jeroen krabbe.

I believe you're thinking about "Hard Target" with Van Damme and Lance Henrikson. That movie takes place in New Orleans.

Although it could have been used in "The Marine," as well.

Looks like the shack from either Drop Zone or Terminal Velocity. One of those skydiving flicks.

This house could very well have been used in multiple movies, as unique locations are often re-used by different productions. Or it could just be that all rustic houses in the swamp look alike.

Someone already said it looks like Wilford Brimley's house in Hard Target. It also looks like a house in Frankenfish, a criminally under-rated monster movie.
