It's getting rated by racists who don't like biracial people who look white and they're offended at Emma Stone playing a part Asian girl who looks white. The irony is that Crowe based the Allison Ng character on a woman he met in Hawaii, a redheaded woman who was part Hawaiian and looked white and was constantly explaining her heritage because she didn't look Hawaiian. So it's not fair to the movie to be dragged down by bigots like this, but at least a lot of people are willing to give the movie a chance.
