Who saved Alice in the bath tub?

If Lucy didnt exist who pulled the plug to drain the water and save Brittany?

In Alice's mind, Lucy's spirit saved her from the same fate that she suffered. But she really hallucinated the whole thing and it was all in her mind.

If David didnt exist, then there was no-one to put the plug in and fill the bath with water. So no-one needed to save Brittany.

But the other girl found her and was all wet. When she found her she was laying drenched in the bathtub.

Alice filled the tub, soaked in it while wearing the dress, pulled the plug herself and then fell asleep. Rebecca came in before Alice got dry. Not too much of a stretch to deduce how someone could get wet in a bathtub.
