Murphey looked strung out and sickly in this movie i remember watching her movies before and thought she was hot but i tried watching this and it was unwatchable. probly because its a bad movie but she looked terrible so there was no point in watching it any further then 20 minutes

On the contrary I thought she looked fine. She was playing a mentally disturbed woman who'd been through a traumatic experience. But Brittany didn't look "strung out" - she was in character.
Hindsight's a beautiful thing. People are looking for harbingers to her death and basically all that happened is a young woman died from heart failure due to other extenuating circumstances (eg. drugs, illness etc.) If she hadn't died, no-one would look that deeply into her appearance in this movie.

Well, I would look at Brittany as a person because I look at her as an actress potraying a character. I noticed how thin she was way before her passing; after she split with Ashton Kutcher. Now, as for other people who might not look pass "characters" they may not notice a "thin-like body structure" on a human being. Also, she had no color to her face, she was very pale. And I think they added extensions to her hair to give her hair body so she wouldn't look so rail.
She looked sick like hospital bed sick, it really looked like she was exhausted. It easy to see that now, but like I said before I could tell she was super-skinny but she never looked sick and you can see it in this movie.
You are right on. She looked like a crack whore in this movie. Near the first of the movie, they showed her taking clothes off to take a bath and I was actually hoping they would not show her naked. How this person ever became famous is beyond me. Her acting is terrible and she looks disgusting. Normally I would welcome a good bath/shower scene. Funny you say you stopped watching it 20 minutes into the movie...I was about 15 minutes and just turned it off and came online to see if anyone else was repulsed by her. A true testament to what drugs can do to a decent human being. And to the producers/casting of this movie.....WTF were you thinking?

It is disgusting for you to say that about someone, especially for someone who didn't know her! Way to go to make assumptions, and the fact is she wasn't on drugs! FWIW, she was a lovely woman with a lovely voice, but she looked terribly unhealthy in this movie. I feel sad for her.
The drug intoxication was due to the OTC and prescription drugs she was using to fight pneumonia, nothing illegal. I'm not sure about this, but I heard after her husband died in the same house that her death may have been due to mold or asbestos growing in the house or something like that?

Yes, it was one of her last movies! But what I'm trying to get across is that people shouldn't mistake their assumptions for the truth! They think they know something, but they don't. ^i agree with EVERYTHING u just said, and I LOVE Brittany Murphy, but she does look noticeably thin and sickly in this movie. Makeup or not - she looked as tho she'd bruise if u touched her :( and I'm sad because she WAS one of my favorite actresses.

The poor girl looked so bad in this movie. She was such a good actress with so much potential... but she looked depressed and so sick - not even just skinny, but completely colorless and strange. I feel bad... and kinda sad... I watched this movie because of her. Didn't like the movie and her acting wasn't good in it, but I miss her :(

shareWell first of all, she was kind of supposed to look awful and sick because the character had just been through a traumatic abuse event in her life, and a subsequent mental breakdown. She wasn't supposed to look healthy, happy or "hot."
Having said that, however, I did think that something about Brittany in this did in fact look unwell in more ways than just character design for the role. She died within a year or so of the making of this film, and since information is coming to light that toxicities were in her body -- hair samples have shown high levels of toxins -- she would have been sickening from this for quite some time before other factors contributed to her death. She would have in fact been ill in real life during the making of this movie, whether she knew it completely or not.
I still think she was a beautiful young woman even in this film; she looked not quite well but was still beautiful, for what it's worth. Her acting performance was also top-notch in this. She was a talented person.
It's very sad what happened to this young woman and her spouse.
