It wasn't shown but it's implied that her brother poured that liquid Plumber stuff into her eye.

It is. The whole movie was so bleak and awful but a good movie.

I have seen the movie, but for some reason I thought he took out his sister's eye while playing with the bow and arrows his father got him?

Jesus! I thought the liquid thing was about the mom finding out he had flushed the Hamster down the garbage disposal.
