Joe and his son at the end
Did anybody else get the impression that even though Joe was upset with Albert for drinking that he was also proud of him for going to that party alone?

shareYeah, I feel that Joe was mad that Albert lied to him, but he was semi happy because his son was out doing "normal teenage stuff" and no shakes.
Fun show!
"We've got movie sign!"
My wife commented on that as well. After he was through yelling at him, there was a bit of a smile that crossed his face.
shareI watched a video commentary on the TNT website with the writer of the episode, and he said that that was Joe was feeling in the clip, so nice catch!
shareabsolutely! it was a breakthrough for a kid who was afraid to venture out to, well, anywhere!!
i caught the faint smile, too...great bit of acting by Ray Romano!
HO!
HO!
HO!
If the series continues, I hope they take this element out of it. It's unnecessary and actually annoying. Don't need a kid who's all neurotic.

I actually like that the kid is a little screwed up. Ray is a little bit of a mess himself and at times a weak father figure. He's divorced, he doesn't know a thing about the dating game at his age, and has a gambling problem to boot.
A normal kid might not need this person's help, even if it were his father. But since the kid is such a head case, even Ray can play parent to him and do it effectively.
