ewwww, Terry!

now he's ready for a "grown up committed relationship", and he's acting more juvenile than ever!

first, he's baking scones for breakfast in the morning - before going to work! hell, i don't even have the time - or energy - to do that in the morning!

then it's let's meet for lunch...can't do that?
o.k. then let's meet for coffee! Owen tells him he has to pick up a car & he says, "can't do that - i'm meeting Erin for coffee" really? you've got a job to do, man!! coffee with the g'friend can wait!

then, it's dinner at a "special surprise" restaurant...

c'mon, Terry, you're startin' to creep me out!!

overly possessive much?

oh yeah, now he wants to move in together...

didn't they try the "toothbrush at her place thing", and she tossed him for the old boyfriend?
she's not such a prize either, IMO...

maybe they deserve each other!

I agree with what you list, but the thing that really convinced me that he's completely fallen for Erin was that he fed her cat! now *that's* commitment, when you start caring for the pets...come to think of it, what does that say about Joe and Manfro....

reply

OMG, i forgot all about him feeding the cat!
that's one more reason i think he's being "ewwwwww"...

not that i don't love animals, but Terry is just trying toooooooo hard!
like i said, he's creepin' me out!

i wish there was an emoticon for "yuck"!

Hmm, I don't think Terry is being 'eww', he's simply trying way too hard to make things work. I think Erin will let him know really quick that he doesn't need to do all of that to keep her around. I think that their heart to heart talk on the steps will help Terry relax a little.

I can sympathize with Terry though. He's in love with a woman and he finally put himself out there. He simply wants to show the best side of him, and I don't think that's any different than anyone else in a relationship. It's new, it's exciting. Will it scare Erin off? Who knows. Is he taking things too fast too soon? I'd think so, but I don't think it will be the end of Erin and Terry. I think it's just another obstacle along the way. Terry will learn how to relax and take things a little slower. Do I see happily ever after? Nope. He will do something else to screw it up, or another woman from his past will do it for him(like the waitress).

Terry trying way too hard to makes things work is the "ewwww factor" i'm talking about...
it's just too much...

IMHO i don't think a person can change their basic personality no matter how hard they try!
you are what you are! oh, you may try to change, but ultimately the "real you" will resurface...

and i do agree with you - he will do something to screw it up...

btw, the waitress was being a total b!tch that day in the coffee shop...
just because she was pi$$ed off at Terry she shouldn't have ignored Owen, too...
she could have dumped a plate of food in Terry's lap or a glass of water on Erin, but not treat Owen like he was a jerk, too...

Terry can really pick 'em, can't he?

like i said before, i don't think Erin is much of a catch either...
bouncing from Terry to old flame, and back to Terry in no time flat! wow! not cool!

some people consider their pets to be better judges of character than they are, so maybe Erin's cat convinced her to give Terry another chance (remember he took to Terry during the dinner at her place)

I agree with OP about Terry and the eww thing... I would assume that what attracts women to him is his easy happy go lucky cool self... now he's all creepy and trying too hard... that's going to turn off this girl for sure... although she did agree to move in with him...

now his story line will be more relationship at home stuff... I'm thinking that terry's story is just not as interesting as the other guys..

being that there's only 2 more episodes left to this "season" (man, that 6 episode season really SUX!), i don't know how much of Terry's relationship w/Erin we're gonna' get to see...and, frankly, i don't care! he's a major LOSER!

plus, i don't know if they're even renewing for another "season", so we may not get to see anything about any of them...

as far as the other guys goes:
i wouldn't want to be involved with Joe - ever!
he's way too flawed, and with that gambling addiction of his - no thank you!!

Owen is the only one that i'd even consider being with, especially since he's toughened up with the crew @ work and with his "daddy"...

It creeped me out that he didn't seem too concerned about the fact that she REALLY NEEDED TO PEE and he seemed more concerned about getting to the restaurant! I saw that as a real red flag...I really thought she was going to give him hell about it especially since she wound up peeing on herself! I don't like him.

reply

I saw that whole episode as a red flag against HER. He's taking her to a romantic restaurant and she has a crying hissy fit because she has to pee?! I was hoping he'd dump her on the side of the road and go find someone else. She's neurotic and flaky and irritating. If someone over the age of six acted like that in my car, having a screaming fit over needing to pee I'd think they had mental problems. She needs to get dumped.

reply

I hate Terry. Like the show, but hate him.

reply

It wasn't that he didn't care, he just wanted his plan to work out. Think about it from Terry's perspective:

He's in love with Erin, and she already left him once (which wrecked him); now that she's back, he doesn't want to lose her again. He's already demonstrated that he's fairly self-conscious that no one takes him seriously, and he wants to prove to Erin that he's someone worth being with. Part of doing that was his elaborate dinner plan, which is why its success was so important to him.
