What Is Your Favorite Part Of This Show?

Strangely enough, I think the show is at its best when the main characters are apart from each other. Not that I don't enjoy the scenes with the guys at the diner or when they're hiking and Joe is obsessing over "Fantasy Girl." Those are fun to watch too. However, those scenes where the three come together aren't what makes this show so great. It's their separate lives. It's Joe trying to be a bookie, or Terry dating a college girl, or Owen trying to become a good boss and run a successful business. For me, this is where the show really shines.

For me, it's the father/son tension. I enjoy watching the always surprising Richard Gant, and to me, Andre Braugher can absolutely do no wrong. I've marveled at him ever since his role in "Homicide." What he conveys with his smile alone is remarkable and his credible range of emotion is nothing short of astonishing. He might just be my favorite TV actor of all time, and I've been watching since the early 1950s. (Just FYI, I happen to be white.)
