JOSEPH GORDON-LEVIT as LIGHT YAGAMI

I nominate Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Light Yagami. The character of Light is such a complex one. The actor has to have an incredibly strong presence on the screen, a powerful energy through subtle acting. He has to be able to sound and look extremely intelligent, and be able to have this dark side to him and at the same time, be able to play nice, fluidly. There also needs to be this connection to the character. The audience is supposed to be rooting for Light, but at the same time be wanting him caught. The degree of acting skills needed is very high. Not to mention, his rising popularity as an actor, is a supporting factor. He is a superb actor and shouldn't be overlooked.
