Justin Lin spells it out about Keanu
He gave an interview for Empire about directing the Lone Wolf and Cub manga into a movie,
"Five-to-ten years ago, they would have wanted Keanu Reeves to play the dad," Lin said. "I think the cool thing about it is that filmmaking has gone global. There's many ways to make a movie and I think Hollywood has to evolve.”
Of course this is not entirely true, just three years ago Hollywood gave Keanu the lead role in 47 Ronin, a story based off a very Japanese legend, that is distinctly about Japanese samurai, not half mixes, not even people that have almost no Japanese in them like Keanu.
You can bet that had Justin Lin not taken the reigns as director, Keanu would still get the role handed to him without the need for a single audition process. share
